Aspen, CO – Music legends Vince Gill and Amy Grant, world renowned PGA Pro Fred Funk and Nancy C. & Richard R. Rogers are joining forces in Aspen/Snowmass again this summer to benefit Challenge Aspen, announcing the 7th Annual Vince Gill and Amy Grant Golf Classic to be held August 2 and 3. The annual gala evening event and golf tournament supports Challenge Aspen’s mission of making possibilities for people with disabilities.
Grammy Award winners Vince Gill and Amy Grant will headline an evening complete with cocktails, live and silent auctions, dinner and an exclusive concert at Aspen Meadows Resort’s beautiful Doerr-Hosier Center on Monday, August 2. On Tuesday, August 3, Gill and Grant will be joined by title sponsors Nancy and Richard Rogers, event co-host and golf legend Fred Funk and PGA Pros Mike Goodes, Denis Watson, Keith Clearwater and Bob Gilder, singer-songwriter Edwin McCain, and MLB Pitcher Dennis Rasmussen as they hit the links of the Aspen Golf and Tennis Club, ranked #21 on Golfweek Magazine’s “50 Best Municipal Courses for 2009-2010.” All proceeds benefit Challenge Aspen, providing year-round recreational, cultural and competitive experiences for anyone with a disability.
The comprehensive “Golfers’ Deluxe” package includes golf with PGA Tour Pros and celebrity friends, two tickets to the Monday night gala, personalized instruction from PGA Tour Pros, VIP gift bags and complimentary food and beverages during all tournament functions. Cost is $1,500 per player or $6,000 per foursome.
Challenge Aspen will also be honoring a group of newly injured servicewomen recently home from Iraq and Afghanistan. The group will be part of a C.A.M.O. (Challenge Aspen Military Opportunities) retreat designed specifically for women and led by a team of professionals. The retreat will include both daily activities, such as rafting and equine therapy, and wellness and educational workshops, all in a retreat-style setting. As a special treat for the women, they will be joined by Amy Grant for part of their retreat and will be special guests at the August 3 Golf Classic gala.
